Glioma stem cells: not all created equal. uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • A growing body of evidence suggests that only a small subpopulation of malignant glioma cells have true tumorigenic potential. A study by PeƱuelas et al. in this issue of Cancer Cell demonstrates that TGF-beta can stimulate self-renewal and inhibit differentiation in a proportion of these glioma-initiating cells.
