abstract
With the development of novel sclerosing solutions, there has been an increase of choice in which sclerosant to utilize for a particular varicosity. It is not only important for the practitioner to define which sclerosant may be effective in a given clinical scenario, but also identify the minimal sclerosant concentration (MSC) that will produce effective results. This article will overview the salient points of choosing the appropriate sclerosant as well as review which MSC to choose based on patient profile, physician experience, FDA recommendations, and vessel diameter to maximize clinical outcomes while decreasing adverse effects.
