  • A fatal hospital-acquired pneumonia due to Legionella pneumophilia occurred in a 32-year-old woman with systemic lupus erythematosus being treated with high dose corticosteroids. The relevance of the direct immunofluorescent test and immune status in Legionnaires disease are discussed.
